Our code of conduct as the VCW Conference prayer team
Praying is a tremendous privilege! We get to bend the ear of heaven to influence the things of earth. This great privilege comes with great responsibilities.
As we seek to reflect Christlike character, we always show respect, love, and humility towards one another and every person we get to pray for. It means we're committing to being flexible as we tackle our call to pray in this capacity. We honor the utmost confidentiality. We display integrity and commitment, and cultivate trust.
This code of conduct takes many forms, including, in no particular order...

Respect
definition: due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others.
In other words, we are intentional to discern and understand people's preferences, and treat everyone as we wish to be treated.

Flexibility
definition: the ability to change or bend easily according to the situation.
In other words, we hold our personal preferences loosely, and we accept to adapt and change according to what is best for the situation and people involved. We accept correction as needed.

Commitment
definition: the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc.
In other words, being part of this prayer team means we're willing to pray consistently, regularly, and to make this a priority in our lives.

Humility
definition: the quality of not being proud or thinking you are better than others.
In other words, we do consider ourselves as more important than anyone, and we treat everyone with Christlike respect, following Philippians 2:1-7.

Confidentiality
definition: the ethical and legal duty to protect sensitive, private, or personal information from being disclosed to unauthorized individuals.
in other words, we do not, ever and for any reason, tell anyone what and who we are praying for. What happens in this prayer room stays in this prayer room.

Trust
definition: reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.
In other words, we earn trust by displaying integrity, confidentiality, respect, humility, and commitment to pray. Trust is not easy to gain, but mind-boggingly easy to lose.

Integrity
definition: the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness; being whole and undivided.
In other words, we do not gossip about any information we're made privy to, and we uphold Christlike character towards one another and everyone we get to pray for.

Bottom line?
Here's a good rule of thumb: If you're not 100% of what the appropriate behavior is, in any situation as a prayer team member, please ask Stephanie! She'll be honored to help out.
